摘要
本调查研究以广西师范大学5个学院12个专业已通过全国大学英语四级考试的83名大二学生为对象,测试他们的英语词汇量和对课文生词的实际掌握量。结果显示:绝大多数学生的词汇量都达不到教学大纲所规定的基本要求;学生对课文生词的实际掌握量与他们的词汇量呈相当大的相关性;《新视野大学英语》教材对于西部地区的师范类院校学生来说生词过多,学生词汇记忆负担过重。研究者根据此结果提出了相应的英语词汇教学建议。
A sample survey of English vocabulary was conducted among 83 CET--4 passed students of 12 majors from 5 colleges of Guangxi Normal University. The survey reveals the relevant relation between students＇ English vocabulary and their ability to master new words from textbooks. The author gives an informative report supported with data, analysis and vocabulary teaching suggestions.
