摘要
随着国际文化交流活动的日益活跃,越来越多的英文电影进入中国市场。对大量英文电影片名翻译的例证分析表明,片名翻译基本采用三种策略:直译、音译和意译,在跨文化视野中考察,当前部分所谓"精彩"片名翻译中存在硬伤:望文生义、乱点鸳鸯谱和低估他人的理解力。
With the ever-increasing activity of international cultural exchange,more and more English movies have been imported to the Chinese market.An analysis of the translation of many concrete English movies titles demonstrates that there are three most widely employed strategies,namely,literal translation,transliteration and free translation.Meanwhile,from the cross-cultural perspective,three shortcomings are discovered existing in some so-called contemporary excellent translation of the present movie's titles,which are taking the meaning of the source text for granted,mismatching the source text with a target expression and underestimating the intelligence of the audience.
