Bilayer lipid membrane is the best mimic model of biological membrane related to the many processes of life. This paper reviews the modification of bilayer lipid membranes (BLMs) with macrocyclic compounds, supramolecular reagents, drugs, antigens and antibodies, and its application in analytical chemistry, especially in the aspects of biosensor and mimetic enzyme. The trend is also discussed. 66 references are cited.
