The Design and Development of a Falure Diagnosis Expert System (FDES) under theenvironment of WINDOWS have been described. The research work on fuzzy knowledge expression andreasoning is introduced. The system structure, knowledge expression and acquisition as well as reasoningmechanism are described in detail.
