蓝诗玲是英国汉学界知名的中国现当代文学翻译家,曾成功地将鲁迅、张爱玲等中国作家送入西方文艺界门槛甚高的"企鹅经典"。蓝诗玲关注翻译文学的内外部生态环境。她对中国文学在英美文化多元系统中的地位以及译入语文化意识形态、诗学观念和赞助人的认识,影响着她的文本选择和翻译策略。蓝诗玲洞悉翻译之"忠实性再创造"的本质,重视语言差异和文体考量,关注文化差异和读者接受。
Julia Lovell is a noted literary translator of modern and contemporary Chinese literature in UK and sinologist who has successfully introduced Chinese writers like Lu Xun and Eileen Chang into the canonical Penguin Classics.She has some insightful ideas on translation that call for our analysis and reference.She has paid much attention to the living environment of translated literature and she is well aware of the status of translated Chinese literature and influence of ideology,poetics and patronage in the TL culture,which in turn affects her choice of text to be translated and adoption of translation strategies.She believes that translation is faithful recreation of the original and attaches importance to the consideration on stylistics and audience reception as well as on linguistic and cultural differences.
