Mechanical Properties of Alumina Short Fiber Reinforced Aluminium Matrix Composites Fabricated by Extrusion Directly Following infiltration

摘要 实验研究了采用液态浸渗后直接挤压工艺制备的氧化铝短纤维增强铝基复合材料(Al2O3Sf/Al)的力学性能。发现该方法制备的复合材料不仅具有很高的弹性模量和强度性能、材料中增强纤维的增强承载作用得到了充分发挥,而且延伸率能保持在相对较高水平。结果表明,该工艺是一条非常有效的制备金属基复合材料的新途径。 The mechanical properties of alumina short fiber reinforced aluminium matrix composites (Al2O3sf/AI) fabricated by extrusion directly following infiltration were experimentally investigated. It was f'ound that the composites not only possess high elastic modulus and strength properties, indicating the reinforcing effect of the fibers has been brought into full play, but also maintain relatively high elongation values. The results show that the new technique of extrusion directly l'Ollowing infiltration is a very effective route for fabrication of metal matrix composites.
