摘要
构式即是形式和意义的匹配。这一概念贯穿了语言的各个层面,对各个层面的语言现象都具有较强的解释力。构式作为一个崭新的视角,能够揭示幽默的生成机制。在特定的语境之中,语言编码者设置了构式意义和语境意义的矛盾,语言解码者解读了二者的不和谐,幽默得以凸显。研究幽默生成机制的意义在于使人们能运用幽默语言来进行有效的人际交流。
Construction is a pairing of form and meaning,which goes through all levels of language and provides good explanations for many linguistic phenomena.From the perspectives of Construction Grammar,this paper aims to probe into the generating mechanisms involved in verbal humor in both English and Chinese.It holds that the generating mechanism of verbal humor lies in encoding the contradiction between construction meaning and contextual meaning by the speaker and decoding its humor in the prominent incongruity by the hearer.It is the prominent incongruity between construction meaning and contextual meaning that evokes humorous effects.Having a clear picture of its generating mechanism,people can communicate effectively with humorous words.
