AUTOTHERMIC PARTIAL OXIDATION OF METHANE TO SYNGAS OVER Ni MONOLITHIC CATALYST

摘要 A Ni monolithic catalyst of 10 mm long and 7 mm in diameter was prepared by sintering Ni spheres and studied in the partial oxidation of methane to syngas. It is demonstrated that the partial oxidation of methane to syngas can be carried out on the Ni metal monolithic catalyst under autothermic conditions and the catalyst shows higher stability. At n (CH 4)/ n (O 2)=1 6, methane conversion of 87 3% and selectivity of 85 1% for H 2 and 90 3% for CO were obtained. The use of monolithic catalyst makes it possible to carry out the autothermic partial oxidation of methane with high gas hour space velocity and no external furnace is needed.
