摘要
对大巴山区四川南江的一种齿蟾标本作了深入研究,认为与我国已知齿蟾属Oreolalax物种均不相同,其形态特征与宝兴齿蟾O.popeiLiu,1947相近,但又有明显区别,南江标本曾在胡淑琴(1966)一文中被归入浦氏短齿蟾ScutigerpopeiLiu(即宝兴齿蟾Oreolalaxpopei)。现经过详细的形态学比较和数值分类学的典型判别分析研究。被确定为新种,即命名为南江齿蟾Oreolalaxnanjiangensissp.nov.。
Oreolalax nanjiangensis Fei et Ye, sp.nov. (Fig.1) Holotype CIB No. 610544,adult male, snout to vent 58.8mm ; type locality: Mt.Guangwu, Nanjiang Co.(32°35′ N,106°45′E), Sichuan Prov., 1600m ; July 20,1961, collected by YE ChangYuan. Paratypes 10 males(CIB610479,610481,610492,610494,610496,610498,610527,610545,610547,610549),8 females(CIB610491,610495,610497,610499,610526,610543,610546,610548),4 juveniles and tadpoles of different developmental stages including metamorphosed individuals; collected from the same locality as that of holotype, altitude 16001850m ; July 1827,1961. Diagnosis. Oreolalax nanjiangensis is closely related to O. popei in secondary sex characters but differs from the latter in the following features: 1) without dark marbling or spots on the throat, belly and vertral sides of the limbs and rear of the thigh; 2) round warts on the dorsal side of the thigh and tibia nearly equal to ones on the back of the body in size; 3) smaller in size, mature males and females measure snoutvent 52.660(mean 56.9±2.25, N=10) mm; 53.358.2(mean 57.4±1.84, N=8) mm; respectively. Description of types.Snout to vent length mean 57mm in the adult, body flattened; head slightly longer than broad; snout rounded and projecting beyond lower lip; canthus rostralis inconspicuous; nostril about midway between the tip of the snout and the anterior corner of the eye; tympanum hidden under skin; loreal region very oblique, concave; maxillary teeth developed; no vomerine teeth; tongue deeply nicked behind; opening Eustachian tube very large; eye large, pupil vertical. Forelimb shorter, the length of lower arm and hand less than half of the body length; tip of finger rounded, whitish; the first and second finger about equal in length, shorter than the fourth; subarticular tubercles indistinct; ventral side of the third and fourth fingers skin ridge shaped; palmer tubercles rounded, inner one larger than the outer one . Hind limb slender and long, the tibiotarsal articulation reaching the eye; heels overlapping when placed at right angle to the body; tip of toes rounded, whitish; all toes slightly fringed with rudimentary webs on the base; subarticular tubercles distinct; inner metatarsal tubercle oval, no outer metatarsal tubercle. Skin rough; larger round warts regularly scattered on the back and lateral sides of the body and the dorsal sides of the hind limbs, small warts on the top and sides of the head and dorsal side of the forelimb; a weak temporal fold; ventral surface smooth; axillary glands larger, especially distinct in female; femoral gland rounded. Color in life. Yellow brown on dorsal surface with dark brown round spots regularly scattered on and around the warts; lips with dark vertical bars or inconspicuous in some individual; the crossbars on the thigh distinct; ventral surface dirty yellow or dirty gray; throat, breast and belly, and lower sides on the limbs without dark marbling or spots. Males with stronger lower arm than the female; thick and large spine on the inner dorsal side of first and second fingers; the chest of the male with a pair spiny groups of thick and large and few spine (when black spines shed, spiny rudiment becoming white); no vocal sac; no lineae musculinae. Tadpole large and strongly built; grayish brown on the dorsal side; body and tail without spots; snout to vent 27mm , length of tail 44mm , when total length about 71mm (36 stage, Gosner, 1960); upper caudal fine starting from the base of tail, tip of tail bluntly rounded, a row of papillae all around the mouth, except for a free space on the middorsal part of upper lip, lacking 12 papillae; extra papillae at the corner of the mouth, some papillae with teeth; horny beak strong, tooth formula mostly I: 5+5/I: 5+5; spiracle sinistral, no free tube; vent dextral with a large oblique opening. The type specimens are kept in the Chengdu Institute of Biology.
