An Overview of Research on Symbiont Cardinium in Arthropod

摘要 共生菌在节肢动物中普遍存在,与寄主形成互惠共生关系,协同进化、相互依赖、相互影响,对寄主的生长、生殖等方面具有特殊的作用。Cardinium是最近定名的、在节肢动物中广泛分布的一种共生菌,可以通过诱导细胞质不亲和、孤雌生殖和雌性化等方式调控寄主生殖,改变寄主适应性,以利于其分布和传播。本文综述了Cardinium研究的基本概况,并对其应用前景进行了展望。 Symbionts are very common in arthropods and play a crucial role in the ecology and evolution of their hosts.They symbiose with hosts,affect the growth and propagation of hosts,and benefit from each other.Cardinium is a recently described bacterium from the Bacteroidetes group, widely distributed in arthropods.It is involved in diverse reproduction alterations of its hosts,including cytoplasmic incompatibility,parthenogenesis and feminization.The paper reviewed the researh progress and potential applications of Cardinium.
