《更多的人死于心碎》是美国小说家索尔·贝娄的杰作。本文从黑色幽默、夸张的讽刺、文学典故的使用以及荒诞英雄的荒诞追求等四个方面解读小说中的后现代主义因素,认为通过用荒诞的形式表现严肃的主题,用轻松幽默的语言揭露丑陋沉重的现实,贝娄入木三分地刻画了现代西方人生存的精神荒原的现状。
More Die of Heartbreak is the masterpiece of the use of black humor, exaggerated satire, ironic allusion of Saul Bellow. An analysis and absurdity in this novel demonstrates the postmodern dimension of SaulBellow＇s poetics. Bellow＇s greatness results from the conjunction of his themes and his distinctive style. In an absurd way, Bellow brings a humorous and light touch to heavy subjects, portraying the modern Western socie- ty as a spiritual desert populated by heartbroken souls.
