Indian media include both Indian- language media and English language media. The latter one plays a significant role in the Indian foreign making , though there is just a small proportion of the English - language policy readership. In India, the most representative views on China are from the English - language mainstream media, and the people who play the most influential role in Indian public' s perception of China, are those non - governmental strategic analysts, retired generals and civilian officials, who often express their opinions on the English - language Media. So far Indian authorities have maintained friendly stance towards China, but the hostility towards China of Indian non - governmental strategic communities is extremely serious. As a matter of fact, the anti - China Hysteria of India mainstream English - language media in 2009 is just a reflection of the non - governmental strategic elites' perception of China.
