摘要
英汉语言中都有着大量的以动物为喻体的词汇,反映了英汉民族历史的悠久和文化遗产的丰富,其形成本质上是人对事物的认知过程。人类的认知机制决定了动物暗喻联想特征与暗喻产生的理据。
Since there exist a large number of animal metaphors in English and Chinese languages,it is necessary to make a comparative study in this area. This paper has a try from a new perspective in the research of the motivation of animal metaphors and their connotations on the basis of the cognitive theory.
