摘要
英语语法中没有"量词"这一独立的分类,英语对"量"这一概念的表述往往要借助于名词,这使得英语量词的内涵和功能变得异常丰富和复杂。文章在语义和语用的角度下分析了英语量词,发现英语量词具有不仅能够"表量",而且能够"表质"的功能。
In English grammar, there is no independent classification of the measure words, and the measures words in English are usually expressed in the form of ＂noun＂, which makes the connotation and function of the English measure words richer and more complex. This thesis aims to discuss the semantic features and pragmatic functions of the English measure words, and found that not only can they express the ＂quantity＂, but it also can express the ＂＇ quality＂ of things.
