The changes of nailfold microcirculation were observed in 42 patients withdepression. The results showed: (1) The multiple score of the Patients was significantly higher than one of normal controls and 59.5% patients had obviouschanses in nailfold microcirculation. (2) The features of nailfold microcirculamtion in patients with depression were that the number and lengths of capillaryloops and the diameters of afferent ]imbs of the Ioops decreased, the diamatersof the apical potion in loops increased, the bind flow velocity decreased, thephenomena of erythrocytes aggregntion, diapedesis and haemorrhage increased, the visibility of subpapillary venous plexus decreased. (3) The multiple score ofpateients with depression have no relatins with age, gender, course and Hamilton depression score. The results suggest the disturbance of nailfold microcirculation in patient with depression is one of the intrinsic signs of the disease.
