The study explored the key effect brain area and working brain area of languages through the brain activation triggered by the memory and recognition tests of English words and Chinese characters. The different activated areas of each language and its operation along with the main activated area are discussed as well. Our results are as follows: The right lentiform nucleus , right cerebellum, left superior frontal gyrus (BA6), left cerebellum, right cingulate gyms (BA32), right hippoeampus are all activated in the key effect brain area of memory and recognition. The right precentral gyrus(BA4)and the right superior frontal gyrus are activated when recognition is reduced in the learning process. Meomory, recognition, Chinese characters and English words all activate the left superior frontal gyrus and the left parietal lobule. Recognition additionally activates the left insula and the left inferior gyrus. Different from English words, Chinese characters activate the left parietal lobule. The left inferior frontal gyrus is additionally activated by English words. Our conclusion is: Aided by the neutral network system collaboration of another cerebral cortex and subcutaneous centre, the English word and Chinese character working memory is mainly conducted in the frontal lobe and the left parietal lobule. The option of another auxiliary brain area is based on the selection of the design and object of the task, along with its factor control.
