摘要
双语心理字典中语义表征问题是心理语言学界争论的焦点之一。有的专家认为一语和二语的语义表征是共享的,有的则认为是独立的。本文从二语中某一个词项内部结构的构建着手,重点分析了双语心理字典中一语和二语单词的语义表征问题。得出的结论是:就某一个二语单词而言,在其习得的不同阶段,其语义表征的方式是不同的。在其内部信息建构的第一和第二个阶段,该单词和其对应的一语单词的语义表征是共享的,其特点是共享一语单词的语义。在第三个阶段,由于该二语单词构建了自己独立的语义系统,所以一语和二语单词的语义表征是独立的,但是,这两个独立的语义系统,又通过两种语言中对应的两个单词间所共享的那部分语义紧密相连。
How the semantics of L2 words is represented in bilingual mental lexicon has received more and more attention recently, with some scholars advocating the “shared semantic representation” view while others favoring the model of “independent semantic representation.” This article analyzes the way the information contained in an L2 lexical entry is constructed, arguing that at different phases of this process, the L2 word’s semantics is represented differently. At the first and the second stage of the development, an L2 word shares the semantics of its corresponding L1 word. At the third stage, however, the L2 word develops its own independent semantic system. The two separate semantic systems are connected through the semantic overlap between an L2 word and its counterpart in L1.
