摘要
批评语言学自上世纪七十年代诞生就被用作对媒体语篇进行过大量的研究,这些研究发现媒体语篇如新闻,公共演讲等有很强的意识形态倾向性。本文选取5篇总统/首相的离职演说并对其进行了批评性的分析,尝试从情态系统的角度发掘这5篇演说中特殊的人际意义关系及隐藏的意识形态。
Critical Linguistics has been applied to examining media discourses since its birth around the 1970s. It has been found that media discourse such as news,public speeches bear rich ideological meanings. The present paper selects 5 Farewell Addresses from presidents/prime ministers and examines them under CL framework. It aims to find out the special interpersonal meanings and hidden ideology within the 5 addresses from the perspective of Modality system.
