Translation is the interpreting of the meaning of a text and the subsequent production of an equivalent text, which leads to changes of the information in the originals. Although traditional translation theories ignore the role of translator, in fact a translator has a strong impact on his faithful translations because of his activeness and creativeness. So it is evident that translators play a crucial role in translation. Meanwhile, it is incredible for a translator to be free from the great influence by the culture he or she lives in. Consequently, the cultural identity of a translator is definitely important and to ascertain a translator's cultural identity results in a better transmission of the cultural connotation.
