摘要
本文从意象的视角，以玫瑰为参照系，集中考察了艾略特的《四个四重奏》中玫瑰的独特意象，揭示了该诗玫瑰意象对于人生之宗教及世俗含义，并藉以探讨艾略特诗歌的艺术特质及其蕴含的哲理。
This paper probes into the image of ＂Rose＂ in ＂Four Quartets＂ by Eliot,with the reference to the rose image,and reveals the secular and religious meanings of Rose in human life with regard to the image of rose. And in this connection ,this paper further discusses the artistic features embodied in Eliot＇s works which in turn reflects the philosophy of Eliot both as a poet and as a philosopher.
