Cerebral vasospasm (CVS) is one of the main causes resulting in death and disability of patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). Decomposed production of erythrocytes and vascular endothelium dysfunction could play significant roles in CVS. Current therapeutics turns out to have unsatisfactory effects. Hypothemia has been used to treat CVS in recent years. This article reviews the recent progress in these fields.
