摘要
昆虫是地球上种类和数量最多的一类动物。在已描述和命名过的动物种类中,5/6是昆虫。有记录的昆虫已近100万种,还有100~1000万种尚待鉴定。地球上任何时候的昆虫数量都有10^(18)之多。昆虫学家曾把昆虫坚硬的外骨骼、巨大的繁殖潜力、微小的体形、强大的飞行能力,以及在适应多变环境的过程中形成的种种生存、繁衍对策,视作昆虫获得成功的原因。其中,由于飞行能使昆虫觅到更好的食物、配偶。
Insect migratory behavior is of greatly adaptive significance in maintaining its survival and reproduction.Eco- logical,physiological and genetic mechanisms underlying insect migratory behavior are summarized and dis- cussed in the light of publication findings.Knowing these mechanisms will enable us to understand the process of insect population dynamics and outbreaks and to improve the strategies and techniques for the migratory insect management.
