摘要
通过对茅山东麓砾岩层的实地研究，以５条剖面的岩性、产状和生物等特征为依据，将砾岩分为三类，并分别论述其层位时代。提出了与前人不同的观点。
The field investigation on conglomerate in eastern Maoshan Mountain shows that the conglomerate can be divided into three types:1.cobblestone located at the top and bottom or interbed of purple sand stone of Paleocene Funing Formation; 2.microconglomerate, interlayered by clay layer, with white and brownish red nodules of Micoene Dongxuanguan Formation; 3.Lower Pleistocenebasaltic cobblestone. Lithologic and fossil features as well as occurrences of five local sections lead to a consideration different from that formerly prevalent for Pukou Formation in Maoshan Mountain. Therefore, the new pointview has important significance for the study of neotectonism in the area.
