摘要
文学经典文本并非独立存在,它与这个世界的众多方面,如政治、社会、文化等有着千丝万缕的联系。本文从萨义德的后殖民理论角度出发,分析狄更斯在维多利亚时期的大英帝国历史背景下的写作,挖掘其小说中蕴涵的殖民话语与帝国意识。这种解读不仅有利于我们从一个新的角度更好地欣赏传统经典文学作品的文学内涵,更有助于我们摆脱以往纯学科研究的局限性,拓展文学研究的领域与空间。
A literary text is not entire of itself in the classical works. It is closely related with politcs, society, culture and many other aspects of the world. This paper aims to make a study of Dickens＇s writing in the background of the empire of Victorian Britain and explore the colonial discourse and imperialist ideology implied in his classical novels from the pesperctive of Said^s post colonial theory. This study will not only help us appreciate the classical works better from a new persperctive, but also make us free from the limitation of the traditional literary studies, and widen its research space.
