理查德·迈耶是新现代主义风格的领军人物,他在坚持现代主义原则的基础上又纯化和发展了现代主义,在他很多建筑作品形态的背后都埋藏有深刻的隐喻,这些隐喻是他对自己建筑作品气质的精心塑造,漂浮、权利、自由的隐喻分别反映了他对建筑作品有机、纯净、轻盈品质的表达;理性、坚固、权威品质的表达和动态、延续、开放品质的表达。洞悉隐藏在建筑形态背后的内涵使我们对于认识和理解他的作品和风格有很大益处。
As the leader of neo-modemism, Richard Meier purifies and develops modernism on the basis of modernism. In many of his construction works, there are many profound metaphors, which reflects the thorough cultivation of works. The floating metaphor show his expressions of organic, pure and elegant buildings, the metaphor of right expresses logic, solid and authority quality and the metaphor of freedom reflects dynamic, continuity and opening qualities. The understanding of the connotation behind the architecture will help us to recognize his works and style.
