传统批评家经常指责大众文化对于语言的使用或"误用"。费斯克接受批评家对大众文化语言的使用或"误用"的描述,同时又坚定地拒绝并反转他们对于这些特征的负面评价。在他看来,不经规训和冒犯式地对语言进行使用或"误用",恰恰是大众"生产者式文本"的重要特征。费斯克对大众文化语言的使用或"误用"的立场,与他对于大众文化、大众文本的基本立场密切相关。
Traditional critics often criticized the use or ＂misuse＂ of language by popular culture. Although he accepted critics＇ description of the use or ＂misuse＂ of the language of popular culture, Fiske refused and reversed their negative comment on these features. To him, the offending use or ＂misuse＂ of language without training was just a key feature of popular ＂producerly text＂. This standpoint was closely related to his basic standpoint on popular culture and popular text.
