科技英语是专用英语的一个组成部分,是一门在20世纪70年代新形成的语言学分学科。本文首先讨论了科技英语的基本概念和特点,然后列举并分析了科技英语翻译过程中常见的错误,最后通过列举翻译过程中的常见错误提出了科技英语翻译时的一些应对技巧。
English for science and technology is a branch of English for special purposes. It is a new sub-subject formed in the 1970s. The paper first discusses the basic concept and characteristics of English for science and technology （EST）, then illustrates and analyzes the common faults in the translating process of EST, and finally puts forward some adviees for EST translation.
