摘要
由于受到英汉各自文化的制约和影响,英汉动物词汇的内涵意义有所区别。一些英汉动物词汇的能指虽然相同,但所指意义却不完全相同,从符号学来看,所指意义属于内在世界,是个人文化经验的积累,故英汉动物词汇(语言符号)的内涵意义受文化的制约,它反映语言的文化编码。
Language can not exist without its culture, and it is the sign of culture. The connotation of language, which is a sign, will be influenced and constrained by culture. Under the influence of its individual culture, both English and Chinese animal words have different connotations. Ahhough some English and Chinese animal words have the same signifiers, their signification is different. In semiotics, the signification belongs to the internal world - that is, the mind - is the reservoir of cultural .experiences, thus the connotations of Chinese and English animal words are constrained by its own culture, which is a reflection of cultural code.
