摘要
叶酸是一种富含于新鲜蔬果中的B族维生素。多项研究显示体内叶酸状态与胃肠道肿瘤发生关系密切,多数研究显示补充叶酸水平可逆转癌前病变,降低癌症发病率和死亡率,亦有研究显示叶酸对胃肠道肿瘤的化学预防存在双向调节,主要取决于叶酸补充的时间和剂量。此文就叶酸的结构、功能、药物代谢动力学、叶酸对胃肠道肿瘤的化学干预的可能机制以及存在问题作一简要概述。
Folic acid, a water soluble member of the B-complex family of vitamins, are abundant in fresh vegetables and fruits. A lot of studies indicate that folic acid status in vivo has close correlation with the development of gastroenteric tumors. Most studies show that folic acid supplementation may reverse precancerous change, lower cancer incidence and mortality. However, some studies have shown that folate possesses dual modulatory effects on carcinogenesis depending on the timing and dose of folate intervention. In this review, the structure, function and pharmacokinetics of folic acid, the possible mechanisms of gastroenteric tumor chemoprevention by folic acid as well as some problems on folic acid supplementation are discussed.
