摘要
翻译中对文化因素的处理一般分为主要以源语文化为归宿的"异化"和主要以目的语文化为归宿的"归化"。《红楼梦》两个英译本译者根据不同的翻译目的,在传递不同背景的文化信息方面各自采取了归化或异化的翻译策略和方法。
Approaches to cultures involved in translation may be divided into two methods： SL culture oriented and TL culture oriented, that is, foreignization and domestication. Translators of the two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions, taking into consideration the differences in purpose of translation, convey different cultural information by means of foreignization and domestication respectively.
