The state of E-cadherin(E-Cd) on it’s expression and function is correlated with invasion and metastasis of malignant neoplasms such as stomach carcinoma. Recently, human E-Cd cDNA libraries have been successfully constituted. The licited materials revealed that deletions or mutations of some e-cons in the extracellular domain of E -Cd gene may markedly reduced homophilic cell - cell interactions and may contribute to the invasive properties of gastric cancer cells which include poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma and signet ring cell carcinoma,though the tumour/metastasis suppressive function of E-Cd is influenced by a lot of factors like
