摘要
技术史研究中首先碰到的问题就是怎样理解技术。人们总是先有一个对技术的基本看法,才会有对技术史的研究。对技术的基本看法及其本质的探讨就是技术论。技术本身是发展的,技术概念也是一个发展着的概念。人们对技术的理解是随着技术形态、组成技术的各种要素、技术的社会功能的变化而变化的。对此,技术史研究工作者应该从技术发展的眼光来看待对技术的不同理解。技术是一个独立的存在,技术是客观的手段同主观的能力相结合的产物,技术是主体与客体相结合而形成的一个动态过程。没有过程便无所谓技术。对技术的这种理解,将给技术史的研究提供更为明确的指导思想。一方面,给技术史研究明确了对象和范围;另一方面,有可能使技术史的研究不仅仅限于技术发展的外在形式,而且可以深入到技术发展的内容,深入到技术的体系和结构。
What happended first when studying the history of technology is how to understand technology. A basic viewpoint of technology is indispensable to studying its history, and the basic viewpoint in combination with the exploration of the essence of technology formed the theory of technology. Technology itself always tends to develop, as well as the concept of technology. Technology was understood insofar as with the change in its form, various component ellements and social functions. So, a viewpoint that technology is always developing should be applied to the different understanding of technology in the study on the history of technology. Technology is an independent entity which combines the objective means with subjective capability, i.e. , a dynamic process combining the subject with object. It means that no process, no technology. In such a thinking way a more definite thought as guide-line will be provided to the study on history of technology with the object and scope both clarified. Moreover, the study on the history of technology will thus not be limited to the externals of technological development but penetrate its connotation covering the system and structure of technology.
