详细叙述铸铁活塞环的材料、铸造方法和表面处理技术。认为灰铸铁活塞环铸造性能最好,可锻铸铁活塞环具有较高的强度和疲劳抗力,球墨铸铁活塞环则具有优良的抗折断性能,并且强度高、韧性好;单体铸造适用于直径相对较小、批量较大的活塞环,筒体铸造适用于直径较大的船用低速柴油机活塞环和直径较小的摩托车活塞环,离心铸造则主要应用于正圆毛坯—热定型的生产工艺;镀Cr可以提高活塞环的耐磨性和耐蚀性,喷Mo提高环的抗熔着磨损能力,等离子渗N则比气体渗N工艺尺寸稳定、磨损率低。
The materials, casting processes and surface treating technique of cast iron piston rings were described in detail.It was considered that the gray iron rings have the best casting properties; malleable iron rings have relatively high strength and fatigue resistance; and the nodular iron tings have excellent anti-fracture property, high strength and toughness; the process of casting in single pieces is suitable for those rings which have relatively smaller diameters and large production batch; the process of casting in cylinders is suitable for rings used in low speed marine diesel engines which have relatively big diameters and rings used for motorbikes which have restively smaller diameters: the centrifugal casting process is used mainly for true circular rough castings and hot forming process; chromium plating can be used to increase wear resistance and corrosion resistance of rings, molybdenum spraying can be used to increase the resistance to surface melting caused wear; plasma nitrided rings have higher dimension stability and lower abrasion loss rate than that of gas nitrided rings.
