摘要
社会文化联系可减少市场信息不对称,降低交易成本,提升国际贸易水平。文章利用1992—2005年香港贸易数据评估社会文化联系在香港对外贸易中的作用。结果表明,香港倾向于与华人密集的国家和英联邦国家进行贸易,说明社会文化联系确实提高贸易水平,这种影响对香港出口以及低技术产品贸易尤为重要。但是随着全球化和区域经济一体化,社会文化联系对香港参与国际贸易的重要性有下降趋势。
The paper evaluates the importance of cultural ties in Hong Kong＇ s foreign trade using time series data from 1992 to 2005. Based on the gravity model analysis, we find that Hong Kong＇ s ties with Chinese ethnics and Common Wealth of Nations play a significant role in facilitating Hong Kong＇ s trade with other regions. Cultural ties are more important to Hong Kong＇ s export and import than re - export and re - import. Chinese ethnic networks play a more important role in Hong Kong＇s exports while the ties with the Common Wealth of Nations influence more in Hong Kong＇ s imports. However, the importance of cultural ties in foreign trade depends on the technological levels of traded commodities and has also gradually decreased as globalization and regionalization proceeds.
