摘要
工程伦理学产生于美国有其深厚的渊源:专家治国思想、职业伦理传统和西方核心价值观念是美国工程伦理学形成的思想文化根源;政府与企业支持、工程协会的自觉发展与大学工程伦理教育体系的完善是该学科得以建立的社会背景支持;公众对科学技术全面认识水平的提高是该学科持续发展的认识基础保证。当代世界不同文化和社会中所共同面对的技术和工程问题,使美国工程伦理学在不同社会和文化中的理解和沟通成为可能。
Historical and cultural origins were the root reasons why the engineering ethics came into being in the United States. The ideological and theoretical bases on which the American professionals formed their engineering ethics were the technocracy, professionalism and the core values of the West. The initiation and growth of American engineering ethics should be seen against the social background involving the supports from governments and corporations, conscious development of various engineering societies and perfection of the education system of engineering ethics in colleges. And this academic discipline has been accepted publicly and developed sustainably because of the progress of American people＇s understanding of and interest in science and technology. Nowadays there are several important sci-tech problems the whole world including different societies with different culture has to face jointly, thus making it possible to understand and communicate the American engineering ethics between different societies and culture.
