摘要
通过对it-clauses的元语篇功能的分类和分析,探讨了不同学科对it-clauses的使用情况和频率,指出不同学科的学术语篇根据各自学科特点对it-clauses的使用存在差异,不同学科作者应采用不同的元语篇策略,以加强读者和作者之间的交流和沟通,达成共识.
This paper takes a stance of metadiscourse analysis and explored the frequency and function of a metadiscourse device : it - clauses in academic papers of different disciplines. By analyzing and classifying the function of it - clauses, it identifies that variation does exist in academic papers in different disciplines as the nature of different discipline varies. It pinpoints that authors of different disciplines should take different strategies in applying meta - discourse to achieve communication, shared knowledge and acknowledgments with readers.
