摘要
近代化学的传入自晚清发轫,作为最基本化学知识的载体,化学元素的中文名称经过晚清、民国百余年时间方才统一。中西两种文化的冲突和融合贯穿该问题始终。在用何种形式表述化学元素、要不要造新字、如何造新字等问题上学术界存在较大分歧。文章从文化的视角对化学元素用字的历史渊源、心理背景、语言要素等问题做了考察,对晚近化学元素用字的历史进行梳理。
The introduction of modern chemistry began in Late Qing Dynasty.As the basic carrier of chemistry knowledge,the Chinese nomenclature of elements came to accord through more than one hundred years form Late Qing Dynasty to period of Republic of China.Conflict and fusion of Chinese and Western culture was the whole-length main thread.In the academic circles there were many arguments on using what form to denote terms for elements,making the new words or not and how to make new words and so on.From the angle of culture,this paper analyzes the history,mental background and language elements of the nomenclature of chemical elements.
