基于有限元法的新结构LiNbO_3电光调制器的分析与优化

摘要 对传统结构的LiNbO3电光调制器进行了改进,并用有限元法对改进后的电光调制器进行了分析计算,采用T形电极、脊波导和空气背槽的新型LiNbO3电光调制器在进行了结构尺寸优化后,相速完全匹配,带宽可达98GHz,特性阻抗为52Ω,损耗系数为0.464dB/(cm.GHz1/2),半波电压为7.13V,其性能远优于传统结构的调制器。 The structure of the conventional LiNbO3 electro-optic modulator is improved. The capability parameters of the new modulator are analysed by using finite element method. The results show that when T-type electrode, ridge waveguide and groove in the bottom are adopted, the capability of the modulator is greatly enhanced. The bandwidth can reach 98 GHz, characteristic impedance is 52 Ω, loss coefficient is 0. 464 dB/(cm · GHz^1/2)and the half wave voltage is 7. 13 V. The performance of the new modulator is far superior to that of the conventional modulator.
