摘要
科技英语是英语的一个语域,科技英语的表语有其自身的用词和表达特点。分析科技英语各类作表语短语的表达,为更好理解科技英语系表结构,科技英语的表语主要由名词短语、形容词或形容词短语、介词短语、动词不定式短语、动名词短语或表语从句等成分担当。以名词短语作表语为考察重点,作者探讨了科技英语各类表语结构的语义表达多种形式,旨在为更好理解和运用科技英语系表谓语结构提供参考,并为汉英科技翻译正确而灵活地应用系表主谓结构服务。
Predicative structure（grammatical structure） in English of Science and Technology（EST） forms largely on the basis of noun phrase, adjective/adjectival phrase, prepositional phrase, infinitive phrase, gerund phrase or predicative clause. With emphasis on nominal phrase for predicative structure examination, this paper analyzes Chinese translations of types of predicative structure in ETS, aiming to offer information for better understanding and applying of predicative structure in English/Chinese two-way translation.
