摘要
党的十六届四中全会明确提出了构建社会主义和谐社会的新命题,建设和谐社会是一项系统工程,其中的一个重要方面就是要大力发展社会主义先进文化,高校图书馆是先进文化的传播者,是培养优秀人才的摇篮,是建设学习型社会的助推器,是实现资源共享的重要阵地,是人们接受终身教育的最佳场所,在构建和谐社会中发挥着不可代替的作用。
Building a harmonious society is a system engineering including extensively development of advanced socialist culture. University libraries are the disseminator of advanced culture, the cradle of persons with ability, the thruster of a learning society, the important shareable database of documentation, and the best place to give people life education. Playing all these roles, university libraries have an irre- placeable function in building the harmonious society.
