图书馆评估学是研究图书馆评估现象,探讨其有关规律、原理、技术与方法的一门科学,其具体学科性质是专门方法学科,主要研究内容包括图书馆评估基本理论、评估技术方法论、各类型图书馆评估的应用研究、评估理论与实践的比较研究。具体研究原则有客观性原则、批判性原则和理论联系实际原则。
：Library evaluation science is one of science which studies library evaluation phenomenon, and discusses its disciplinarian,principle, technique and means. Its corporeality science nature is one of expert means , cardinal content includes basic theory, technique and means, applied studies and comparative studies. It should abide by some tenets, for example objective, critical and theory contacts practicality.
