摘要
该文回顾了Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ网络在国内的发展情况及其主要功能。认为，Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ网主要用于完成通讯任务及信息服务。概括为四个方面：１．电子邮件；２．远程上机；３．文件传输；４．ＷＷＷ一个快捷的信息检索系统。并介绍了Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ在水土保持信息服务中的应用。在此基础上，作者结合工作实践。
The main functions of Internet and its application in China are expounded.Internet is applied mainly in communication and information servince,it includes E mail,Telnet,File Transfer Protocol and World Wide Web.Its application in information servince of soil and water conservation is also introduced.Some suggestions for developing the extant document resource and speeding up the progress of soil and water conservation information are put foward.
