摘要
如何对浩如烟海的信息资源进行有效组织和高效率检索,是网络信息时代面临的一个突出问题.Ontology和元数据是对信息处理有重要价值的两种新方法.本文论述了这两种方法的关系以及它们在数字图书馆中的应用.通过从不同角度对它们进行比较分析,明确了Ontology的优势和关键技术难点,为基于语义Web的语义检索研究打下了基础.
In network information age, it is an intractable problem how to organize and search huge information resources effectively. Ontology and metadata are the new approaches, which are of great value to information handing. The relations between Ontology and metadata, and their applications in semantic web and digital library are investigated in this paper, and the advantages and key technique barriers of Ontology are presented by comparing and analyzing the two methods in various aspects, it makes a strong basis for the study of semantic search based on the semantic Web .
