摘要
On Nov. 7, 2006, the 4^th Meeting of Heads of Research Councils in Asia was held successfully in Beppu, Japan. Prof. Chen Yiyu, President of NSFC headed a delegation of four people to attend the meeting. Prof. Motoyuki Ono, President of Japan Society for Promotion of Science （JSPS） and Dr. Oh-Kab Kwon, Chairman and CEO of Korea Science and Engineering Foundation （KOSEF） also headed their delegations to attend the meeting. In the meeting, three organizations presented their own science and technology policies and had an active discussion. The theme for the 2007 Northeastern Asian Symposium and 2008 A3 Foresight Program was decided.
