摘要
文章从可持续发展和地球系统科学概念的形成和发展历史，阐述了两者之间的关系，并进一步讨论了地球表层学——地理科学与地球系统科学——可持续发展战略之间的内在关系问题。最后，详细论述了“以研究中国区域可持续发展战略为任务带动陆地系统科学的发展”的观点，并指出了现阶段存在的问题和今后的研究方向及其所需的工作条件。
The paper discussed the relationship between the earth system science and sustainable development strategy from its history of formation and developmet, and discussed throughly the relationship between them and the science of earth-surface and geography. At last, the author pointed out the nowly existing problems and the futural developing direction , and its necessary working condition ' in the view of developing land system science by studying the regional sustainable developent strategy of China.
