摘要
从综合化与专业化的角度描述机械工程整体发展脉络．回顾我国自８０年代以来机械工程综合研究的发展历程，指出由借鉴融合转入交叉融合这一发展规律，介绍中国机械工程学会及其会刊在我国机械工程综合研究发展中发挥的历史作用，以及综合研究对学科发展与工业进步的推动。
From a comprehensive and specialized angle, the Journal describes the global developing ideas in the fiedl of mechanical engineering. reviews the course of comprehensive study development of the mechanical engineering since 80s in China, fingers out the growing rule changed from using for reference and merge to overlapping and blend, introduces the historical effects on the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering and its Transactions in the field of comprehensive study of the mechanical engineering and it also introduces the comprehensive study's motive force to the development of our subject and the industrial progress.
