摘要
传统译论强调忠实，反对改写原文，但在翻译实践中改写是经常出现，甚至是必须的。尤其在英汉互译过程中，由于英汉两种语言结构及各自文化系统间巨大差异的客观存在，改写既是文学翻译的本质属性，也是非文学翻译的必然。而且，英汉互译中的改写特质既是有意识的，也是潜意识的。
Rewriting is not permitted in traditional translation theory,which pays much attention to the faith factor. But it frequently occurs in translation practice and is sometimes of great necessity to attain the goal of communication. The eurrent paper argues that in the translation between English and Chinese ,rewriting is the nature of translation not only in the translation of literary texts,but also in thetranslation of non-literary texts due to the great differences existing in both two languages and cultures. Furthermore,it emphasizes that this nature of rewriting is both conscious and subeonsdous especially in the translation between English and Chinese.
