摘要 简要介绍了该模式系统的主要技术特点,并利用该模式开展我国南方降水预报试验.试验结果表明:模式能正确反映我国南方夏季降水的时空演变特征;采用嵌套后模式的强降水预报能力得到提高并能给出更细致的降水结构;同时,该模式在地形处理、水汽计算等方面更适合东亚特点,与目前国内运行的业务模式相比对我国南方降水具有较高的预报能力,这为开展暴雨数值预报模式与水文模型结合,提高我国南方洪水预报能力,奠定了理论与实践基础. Advanced regional Eta model (AREM) is a meso-scale heavy rain numerical model system, which has been developed by the Wuhan Institute of Heavy Rain, CMA. The main technical characteristics of the model system is described briefly. And some precipitation forecast experiments of South China have been carried out with the model . The result shows that the model can correctly reveal the summer precipitation's temporal-spatial evolution characteristics of South China. Nesting the model can improve the ability of heavy rain prediction; and more detailed structure of rainfall is given by the model. Compared with the present domestic operational model, the AREM is suitable for the characteristics of East Asia, such as terrain process, water vapor computation etc. ; and it has high correct rate of precipitation forecast in South China, which has established the theoretical and practical foundations for combining the numerical weather forecasting model with the hydrological model so as to enhance the prediction ability of flood in South China.
