摘要
本文是从语用认知的视角来探讨元交际条件句的用法。文章指出,元交际条件句主要是对主句所实施的言语行为进行的评价或解释。它具有三种用法元语用用法、元语言用法和限定性用法。元语用用法是与言语行为的整体相关,而后两种是与言语行为的局部相关,对言语行为起着限定或修饰作用。从认知的角度看,元交际条件句的理解主要是言语行为的转喻机制在起作用,是对说话者所要实施的言语行为提供一种“适宜”条件。
The present paper aims to explore various uses of meta-communicative conditionals （MCCs） from a cognitive-pragmatic perspective. The author points out that MCCs mainly serve as comments on various speech acts （SAs） performed by the speaker. Pragmatically speaking, MCCs have three functions, i.e. meta-pragmatic use, meta-linguistic use and restrictive use. Among these three functions, the roots-pragmatic use is related with the whole of the SA performed by the speaker, while the other two are related with aspects of the SA by modifying or restricting the specific scope or expression of the SA. From the cognitive perspective, the cognition of MCCs mainly relies upon the metonymic mechanism of SAs, with a MCC providing a felicity condition for the SA intended by the speaker.
