The augmented capacity conductor is special conductor used on overhead power transmission line, which has the advantages such as good heat- resisting property and higher operation working temperature, and more power transmission capability. To adopt augmented capacity conductor is the one of the measures for knproving power transmission capability, and has good value and prospect of popularizing application. The kind of augmented capacity conductor, and its structure, property and application conditions etc. were introduced and compared in detail, and the development for it in the future was assessed.
